Reading time: min

SKILLSTECH Australia at Acacia Ridge has launched the Certificate IV in Engineering (Foundry Technology).

The new course was developed through collaboration between CAST CRC, Australian Foundry Institute's Queensland Division and SkillsTech Australia.

According to the AFI, the training was developed in response to an industry need as expressed by its members. AFI member companies contributed to the project, and volunteers from the metallurgy sub committee also provided support.

The CAST CRC provided financial support and project leadership for the course.

According to CAST CRC, its involvement in the project started in 2006 with a survey of Queensland foundries. This survey found a need for training and skills development.
