To support existing installations and future growth in the South African foundry sectors, Omega is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with the owners of Endeco whereby a majority of the shares will be acquired and the company will change its name to ENDECO - OMEGA Foundry Machinery (Pty) Ltd.
ENDECO, based in Alberton, Johannesburg has been established for more than 30 years and engaged in the design and supply of foundry equipment to the South African market. Endeco’s existing facilities and personnel will be developed to provide full market support in terms of installation, service and repairs, spare parts availability and, manufacturing of the complete Omega product range.
Mr Peter Petersen of Mondeco Solutions, who is the current Omega agent, will be handling sales and marketing and will also be a shareholder of the new venture. Mr Roy Dias will be appointed Managing Director and Mr Victor Dias will be Technical Director.
Chairman of Omega Mark Fenyes stated ‘South Africa is a very important market for Omega and since gaining some significant projects in the region it was obvious that we needed to take the next step and establish a local presence. Omega Foundry Machinery, a leading manufacturer of no-bake equipment was established in 1984 and is based in Peterborough UK. The company has a successful history of developing JV’s to support regional markets; the first JV company was formed in the USA in 2000 and subsequently similar ventures have been formed in India, Australia, Turkey and Malaysia
