Perfect solution for the production of chassis and engine parts

Kurtz GmbH presents low pressure technology at GIFA 2019

Reading time: min

After four years, the experts of the foundry industry will meet again at the trade fair in Düsseldorf from 25 June on. Kurtz will be taking part in Hall 16 with a 200 sqm stand and will also be celebrating over 35 years of high-tech casting machine construction. Low pressure die casting is a high priority at GIFA. The low pressure technology is also extremely important for Kurtz and plays a central role for Kurtz foundry machines’ business. One of the highlights at the Kurtz stand will be the low pressure casting machine Kurtz AL 28-18-18 FSC equipped with many innovative functions. The design is remarkably compact while at the same time the performance remains outstanding. The advantages of low pressure casting technology for the production of chassis and engine parts are versatile, for example very good strength values and high dimensional accuracy. The technology is particularly interesting for the aluminium casting of safety-relevant parts, for example when it comes to pressure-tight components with highest load requirements in vacuum, hydraulic and high-voltage technology. The AL 28-18-18 FSC low pressure casting machine was specially developed for such high requirements.

With this machine, Kurtz enriches the portfolio of low pressure casting machines by an extremely powerful yet low-noise hydraulic system. The high clamping force of 54 t with a high opening force of 100 t is impressive, as is a new vacuum system for venting and core gas extraction. Thanks to the optional hydraulic quick clamping system, moulds can be set up more quickly and without tools. A stroke of 1,800 mm with a clearance of 2,600 mm at the clamping device makes it easy to remove the components using the attached removal unit and provides excellent conditions for robot automation. Plane-parallel docking of the furnace to the mould ensures problem-free use of multiple riser tube systems (twelve riser tubes and more) on a very large pitch circle. The intelligent, energy-efficient cooling system of the AL 28-18-18 FSC has 96 mixing circuits (optional 128) which can be connected to the tool by means of smooth-running multi-couplings. These and many other arguments in favour of the Kurtz AL 28-18-18 FSC will be presented by the Kurtz trade fair team at Stand A57 in Hall 16. You are welcome to inform yourself in detail about the Kurtz low pressure technology – our experts will be happy to advise you!
