By collaborating with the most renowned international robot manufacturers, SIR is able to design highly customized solutions for key sectors such as automotive, foundry, aerospace, and general industry. With a team of 115 employees, complemented by additional staff at its U.S. location in Sacramento, California, the company continues to grow and expand its international influence.
The New Expansion Project
Since 2004, SIR has operated from its current Modena headquarters. However, the continuous growth of its production activities and the need to optimize processes has led the company to plan a strategic expansion of the site, with the goal of creating a true corporate headquarters. The new headquarters will become the company's beating heart, supporting growth and strengthening the company’s presence in the global market.
The main activity at the Modena site consists of designing robotic lines, along with assembling and testing them before they are disassembled and shipped to the final customers. The production process has a low environmental impact, thanks to limited mechanical processing, resulting in reduced emissions and minimal waste production.
Sustainable Expansion: A Commitment to the Environment and the Community
The expansion project includes a total building capacity of 9,631.62 square meters, with a request for an additional 1,180.62 square meters, representing a 12% increase in the current capacity. This expansion has been carefully designed to minimize land consumption by optimizing existing spaces and improving the logistical and functional efficiency of the site. Key elements supporting the expansion request include:
- Optimization of internal spaces: All offices and operational facilities will be consolidated into a single location, avoiding decentralization and ensuring greater operational efficiency.
- Improved traffic and logistics: Access to the site will be optimized, with a focus on green space management and integration with the surrounding area.
- Increased green areas: The project includes the planting of tall trees and shrubs to enhance the aesthetic appeal and mitigate environmental impact.
- Environmental sustainability: Special attention has been given to implementing sustainable energy solutions, including a 48kWp photovoltaic system, green roofs, and sun-shading louvers to reduce solar radiation and improve the building’s energy efficiency.
