Slowdown signs - Russia aluminum production drops by 7%

It is reported that Russia’s primary aluminum output in January to April 2009 fell by 7%YoY compared with the same period in 2008. During the same time, bauxite output in 2008 increased by 2.5%YoY over the same period, but there had 17.7% reduction in alumina production. In 2009, Russia’s zinc production in January to April reduced by 24.3%YoY, refined copper output fell 12.6%YoY, nickel production of 10.2% reduction and lead output in 2008 fell 46.2%YoY over the same period.
