Spectacular performance promotes efficient production

Reading time: min

Lower energy consumption – higher productivity: New syncromill machining centers from Fill are real attention grabbers at international trade fair in Hannover.

The Fill Machine Engineering exhibition stand was a major stage for innovation and efficiency at the EMO from 18 to 23 September 2017. The Austrian metal machining experts presented key parts of a fully integrated production facility for engine blocks, at the core of which were the new syncromill machining systems. From machining on the syncromill c21-80/800 to parts handling and the fully automatic inspection system, all operations interlink highly efficiently. The result: maximum productivity, flexibility, and precision combined with minimum energy use.

The extension of the syncromillproduct range raises efficient metalworking to a new level. "The optimized workflow thanks to perfectly interlinking systems enables production of components such as cylinder heads and crankcases with the highest levels of quality and cost effectiveness," says Friedrich Dallinger, Head of Fill's Metal Machining Technology Center, summarizing the customer benefits. The machine workflow (MWF) system developed by Fill also allows customers to maintain a constant overview of the current performance of their production processes in the sense of Industry 4.0.

Good looks on the outside, high-tech inside

Whether for aluminum, steel, or other materials: The new syncromill machining centers allow various machining operations to be performed in single or multiple clamping operations. Intelligent components, such as cooling, hydraulic, and high-pressure preparation systems, reduce energy consumption by up to 45 percent and shorten the cycle time for machining tasks by an average of 13 percent compared to conventional production systems. The fact that they also set new standards in terms of design left a lasting impression with many exhibition visitors.

Revolutionary system speeds up tool replacement

As another highlight at the trade fair, Fill presented the syncromill c21-63/600 dual-spindle machining center for the first time. In this model range, the tool replacement system has been completely re-envisaged. With extremely short chip-to-chip times of 1.8 seconds, there is nothing comparable on the market in terms of speed. An additional advantage is the potential use of very large, heavy, and long tools, whereby the machine is ideally suited to application in the field of e-mobility. At the same time, the syncromill c21-63/600 needs no more than an unbelievable eleven square meters of space. The epitome of efficiency and flexibility.

Digital products – machine workflow

The digitalization driven by Fill's expert team was also presented successfully at this year's EMO. Fill's innovations include the complete networking of machines with the machine workflow software platform and visualization of the product and production data with the newly developed app for iOS and Android operating systems. Fill succeeded in impressing trade visitors yet again with state-of-the-art web technologies, seamless component traceability, and integration of production data in the CORE communication tool.
