St. Petersburg Technical Fair taking place on March 15-17, 2011, is a comprehensive industry event that features international specialised exhibitions and conferences dedicated to metallurgy, metal working, mechanical engineering, automotive industry and industrial innovation. This combination of events generates the synergy of participation when exhibitors of one exposition are target exhibitors of others. The PTFair enables trade visitors to hold negotiations and meetings, as well as exchange experience in production and innovation.
In spite of the difficult for the Russian industry period, PTFair presents the largest Russian and foreign enterprises and provides favorable conditions to establish new business relations and strengthen the existing ones. Every year the event involves over 500 companies. The PTFair is attended by over 7,000 Russian and foreign trade visitors representing all the industry sectors.
Considering modern trends of R&D and needs of modern enterprises the PTFair exhibition program combines several industry sectors. Russian and foreign companies at "Metallugy. Casting", "Mechanical engineering", "Metalworking", "Modern Industrial Enterprise", "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments (Hi-Tech)" and "Avtoprom/ICTA" will exhibit advanced technologies, materials, machines, equipment and innovative solutions that cover a wide range of industry sectors and research fields.
The PTFair 2011 is held jointly with BLECH Russia 2011, the only in Russia exhibition for sheet metal working.

The key business event of the PTFair will be St. Petersburg Industrial Congress dedicated to discussing pressing topics concerning Russian sheet metal market, technological development of automotive industry, industry sectors re-equipment, business management and many others.
The 5th St. Petersburg Partneriat is a range of events in PTFair 2011 program that ensures conditions for participants to discuss measures to contribute to economic stability of our country and to support small and medium business through interregional and cross-border cooperation.
The PTFair 2011 features Russia-Finland Industry Forum which program includes round table meetings dedicated to discussing conditions for successful cooperation in mechanical engineering, metal working, IT, etc. between Finnish and Russian companies and attracting Finnish small and medium businesses to the Russian North-Western market.
During its history the Fair has proved itself to be the most developing industry project in the Russian North-West. The PTFair 2011 program assists interests of industry, manufacturers and suppliers, high-tech products developers and consumers to meet governmental support and programs.
The demand for such an event is additionally emphasized by the interest on the part of federal and regional government organisations. St. Petersburg Technical Fair is organised with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg Government, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, St. Petersburg Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and under the auspice of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
Valentina Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg noted in the welcome speech addressed to exhibitors, participants and guests of the PTFair 2010 that ”St. Petersburg Industrial Fair contributes significantly to the city wealth. Ideas are generated there, concepts and projects are created, new investors are attracted, mutually beneficial economic and research relations between the Northern capital and Russian regions and foreign countries are strengthened”.
