The International Slovenian Foundry Conference took place for the 53rd time this year on the 11th-13th of September in Portoroz, directly at the Adriatic Sea.
An estimated 200 participants from 15 different countries such as Germany, Italy, India and Great Britain greeted conference guests as well as those who were visitiors for the very first time.
With a focus on the strength of the European foundry industry and the global outlook of development for suppliers, 10 complete lectures were held along with 24 presentations, all of which, in the English language. The concept of this conference should remain the same for future conferences.
The absolute highlight in Portoroz was the annual boat tour along the Slovenian coast near the Italian Triest seaport in Northern Italy. With sunshine and Slovenian hospitality, it provided for an optimal social atmosphere for developing new contacts.
The next Slovenian Foundry day will take place in 2014 on the 17th- 19th of September.
