Evansville-based Accuride Corp., a diversified manufacturer and supplier of commercial vehicle components in North America, is selling assets at its Imperial Group's Anniston, Ala., facility, officials said.
Eva Schmitz, spokeswoman for Accuride, said the company wasn't ready to disclose details of the sale. However, she said, the financials do not include material.
Accuride officials identified the buyer of the Imperial Group's Anniston location as North American Bus Industries Inc. (NABI), the sole customer for products manufactured at that plant.
Before the asset sale, Imperial Group had produced bus frames and certain components related to the bus frames for NABI out of that facility, as well as supplying bus chassis and other components to NABI out of Imperial's Portland, Tenn., facility.
Only the assets at the Anniston facility are involved in the sale, Schmitz said.
Accuride will continue to own two Imperial locations in Texas, two Imperial locations in Tennessee, and one Imperial location each in Washington and Virginia.
Imperial is one of Accuride's six different business units. The other units include Accuride Wheels. Gunite Wheel-end components, Brillion iron castings and nonpowered farm equipment, Bostrom Seating assemblings and Fabco Steerable drive axles, gear boxes and other truck equipment.
Accuride's products are marketed under its brand names: Accuride, Gunite, Imperial, Bostrom, Fabco, Brillion and Highway Original.
