FLINT, MI - Rex Blackwell, plant manager of General Motors Powertrain Saginaw Metal Castings Operations, has been appointed manager of the Flint Truck Assembly Plant.
The move is effective June 1, according to a news release. Blackwell replaces Tony Francavilla, who is assuming a leadership position in GM's European manufacturing organization.
Blackwell began his GM career in 1979 in La Grange, Ill. He held positions of increasing responsibility, including several leadership positions in the labor relations organization at GM Service Parts Operations in Grand Blanc Township.
Flint Truck is Genesee County's largest GM plant and its only assembly plant.
