Warren Steel Holdings LLC, which operates at the former Copperweld Steel complex, said that it has added new equipment to expand its product line. The company said it now can produce steel rounds 6 inches in diameter, adding to its current offerings of 8.5 inch, 10.6 inch and 12.25 inch. The company completed major refurbishment of the former CSC site, including the melt shop, ladle refining furnace, four strand casting operation and vacuum tank degasser by the end of 2007. In addition, extensive refurbishment of Warren Steel Holding's on site rail spurs and connections to Ohio Central Railroad also have just been completed and are in operation. The company said it now is able to offer direct rail service to its customers. The plant was restarted in 2007 after two years of renovations and has 140 employees and a capacity of 800,000 tons. Mr Wayne Smith vice president sales of Warren Steel said that these include three additional diameter sizes and finish-saw cutting operations to allow for delivery of exact and non-standard cut lengths. Mr Smith added that additional sizes and cast shapes will be added depending on customer and market needs.
