VDMA Robotics + Automation Board has a new Chairman

Dr. Michael Wenzel, CEO of Reis GmbH & Co. KG Maschinenfabrik in Obernburg, has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of the VDMA Robotics and Automation Association for the next three years.  Dr. Wenzel is the successor of Dr. Norbert Stein, the sole shareholder and Managing Director of VITRONIC in Wiesbaden who stepped down from this honorary position following the end of his three year term.

The position of the Chairman of the Board rotates every three years subsequent to an election process by the VDMA Robotics and Automation members.

The VDMA Robotics and Automation members’ assembly marked the occasion by a farewell to Dr. Norbert Stein in appreciation for his dedication and successful work.

Mr. Hans-Dieter Baumtrog, the CEO of sortimat Technology GmbH in Winnenden, has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Association.

The new Board of Directors will be actively engaged in all aspects of the business continuing the work for the sector which also includes the newly founded campaign of “Green Automa-tion”. Within the theme of “Engineering sustainability” it is pointed out how robotics, assembly & handling technology as well as machine vision can help resource-efficient products to penetrate the market.
