‘Casting the Future’ – quite literally ‘something for everyone’

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">The World Foundry Congress 2006 preliminary technical programme has now been officially released by organisers Institute of Cast Metals Engineers (ICME) and highlights a considerable range of topical subjects which paying homage to the technological and practical advances required to sustain the global cast metals industry in the future.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">With 120+ papers originating from 35+ countries the event, to be held in Harrogate in the United Kingdom on 5-7 June 2006, will maximise the global information portal that the World Foundry Congress has become over recent years.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">The programme includes contributions from casting engineers, industrialists, foundrymen, academics, buyers and specifiers of castings, and is set to ignite the fire of debate for long after the event itself.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">Innovative techniques will be presented along with many practical case studies and details of the latest research and development being undertaken by the World’s foremost R&amp;D establishments.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">Keynote presentations will focus on the global perspective on the adoption of best technological practice in the cast metals industry, on the challenges and opportunities the industry faces, and on the role the industry will play in the future manufacturing environment.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">Commenting on the programme, chair of the technical &amp; scientific papers group at ICME Dr Pam Murrell said, “The theme for the World Foundry Congress 2006 is ‘Casting the Future’ and because of the overwhelming response to the call for papers we have been able to prepare a technical programme that truly delivers on this theme”.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">The technical programme is just one aspect of this highly valued event, a full social programme, partners programme, industry visits programme and post-congress social tours are also included in the World Foundry Congress package.&nbsp;</font>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">Costs of attendance at the Congress are £450.00 for delegates from WFO member countries (if registered prior to 1<sup>st</sup> April, after this date the fee will be £525.00); and £500.00 for delegates from WFO non-member countries (prior to 1<sup>st </sup>April, rising to £575.00 if booked after that date). Partner costs are £225.00 (prior to 1<sup>st</sup> April) and £265.00 (after 1<sup>st</sup> April).
