The “World Foundry Days” to be held in Brno June 1st – 3rd , 2009, will consist of three interlinked and interconnected basic parts:
“World Technical Forum” (WTF)
“46th Foundry Days”
“International PhD Foundry Conference”
We hope that this event being (the only official one in 2009 under umbrella of WFO) will attract participants from all over the World, our estimated number is about 350-400.
As a part of these 3 interlinked conferences is also the accompanying exhibition of both suppliers and foundries in which you all have still a chance to participate. As for the technical content of all three conferences we are happy to announce that we have on programme already many interesting papers from respected authors and companies – again for details see our website – preliminary programme.
There are about 6 papers related to foundry history on Mon 1st June, about 20 papers related to the trends in our branch on Tue 2nd June and about 30 commercial and non-commercial papers on Wed 3rd June. Last but not least we should mention a huge interest for the PhD Conference where there will be 50 papers presented in two sections on Wed 3rd June. This is probably the most optimistic news, i.e. having young people being interested and involved in our foundry technology.
