“As a supplier of basic materials for high-quality industrial products and as a partner in the development of materials, TRIMET has been playing its part in the success of our innovative industrial location for the past 35 years,” says Philipp Schlüter, Chairman of the Executive Board of TRIMET. This also includes embracing the principle of short distances: “We are the ‘material source from just next door’ on which the processing industry can rely.” Much of the credit for TRIMET’s success belongs to the employees. The family business can count on their commitment and responsible attitude even in the current situation.
“The knowledge and fantastic commitment of every employee even in difficult times – that is what the TRIMET family is all about,” explains Schlüter. “They keep the aluminium smelters and foundries running and supply our customers with the necessary products. This is worthy of special respect in the current situation.” As a local producer, TRIMET Aluminium SE continues to supply the industry with important light metal during the coronavirus pandemic, thereby helping to ensure that the local value chains remain intact.
The aluminium specialist is a supplier of materials for high-quality industrial products in the mechanical engineering, electrical, and automotive industries as well as the packaging business and the construction sector. TRIMET was founded in 1985 by Heinz-Peter Schlüter as a metal trading company with three employees and started producing aluminium in the 1990s. The owner-managed family business now employs around 2,300 people. In addition to its trading activities, it operates four aluminium smelters, two recycling plants, and several foundries.
