Lesedauer: min

MUNICH (Germany) - Infor today announced that Eisenmann Druckguss GmbH, a manufacturer of components for the automotive industry, has replaced its standard business software from SAP with Infor ERP Xpert in its recently acquired facility in Roding, Bavaria. Tailored especially for the automotive industry, Infor ERP Xpert enables Eisenmann Druckguss to accurately plan its precision die-casting processes at the Roding plant by calculating premium material surcharges as well as optimum machinery and staff capacity, increasing production efficiencies.

Eisenmann Druckguss GmbH currently uses Infor ERP Xpert at its production facility in Villingen-Schwenningen. The company recently expanded its portfolio of die-cast parts by acquiring Roding-based Präzisionsdruckguss Roding GmbH & Co. KG. Based on the positive results Eisenmann achieved through its recent upgrade to the latest version of Infor ERP Xpert in Villingen-Schwenningen, the company elected also to use the ERP system at the newly acquired facility.

"We had the choice between maintaining SAP, which we found to be an overly powerful software with a high total cost of ownership, or switching to a tailored alternative, which covers our requirements with integrated business-specific capabilities,” says Helmut Hirt, managing director at Eisenmann Druckguss GmbH. “To perform our business operations and increase profitability more efficiently, we decided to go with the latter. Infor ERP Xpert provides the right blend of industry know-how, functionality and project expertise to mid-market businesses in our industry.”

Infor ERP Xpert’s business-specific capabilities include out-of-the-box functionality for EDI, financial management, barcoding, supply chain and quality management. To keep pricing competitive while increasing profit, Infor ERP Xpert helps Eisenmann consider premium material and energy surcharges early in the planning stage, enabling the company to optimize additional resource purchases. Eisenmann also benefits from accurate machinery and staff capacity planning based on days or individual shifts, minimizing wasted time and effort.

The company gains visibility of individual production orders, revealing potential bottlenecks to streamline processes.

"To increase competitiveness and profitability, mid-size automotive manufacturing companies are seeking low-maintenance solutions with comprehensive functionality to meet their individual industry and business requirements,” said Wolfram Schmid, manager, global automotive industry and product marketing, Infor. “Infor ERP Xpert is designed exclusively for manufacturers in the automotive industry and enables companies, like Eisenmann Druckguss, to identify and reduce production inefficiencies, making them more productive and profitable.”
