The 15th International Fair of Technologies for Foundry METAL was held from
29 September to 1 October 2009. Exhibition stands prepared by over 300 companies
from 23 countries in Europe as well as from the United States, Taiwan, Japan, China,
and India featured special foundry equipment, furnaces, metalworking machines, and auxiliary tools. Thus, all those participating in this fair found something for themselves; visitors - a whole range of products, exhibitors - new markets. The location of this event (near the eastern border of the EU) provides companies operating in the West and the East with an excellent platform for exchanging experience and establishing co-operation.
On the second day of the Fair a summit meeting was held by the CAEF - Committee of Associations of European Foundries and MEGI - the Central European Foundry Initiative, with an agreement for co-operation between European foundry organizations supposed to be concluded. At this fair, leaders of the foundry industry were brought together in one place. METAL was held simultaneously with the trade fairs ALUMINIUM & NONFERMET and CONTROL–TECH.
The Kielce METAL fair enjoys membership of the UFI – Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, which brings together the world's most prestigious fair events. The fair is organized in co-operation with the Foundry Economic Chamber, the Polish Foundrymen’s Technical Association, and the Foundry Research Institute. Simultaneously with METAL, Kielce provided the venue for the 8th International Fair of Aluminium & Technology, Materials and Non-ferrous Metal Products, ALUMINIUM & NONFERMET. Being dedicated to the non-ferrous metal industry, this trade fair is Poland's only event of its kind.
Targi Kielce attracted companies offering new technologies, modern equipment used in non-ferrous metal foundry processes, materials and components applied in metallurgy, as well as pressure die-castings of aluminium and zinc alloys. The largest group of exhibitors were made up of companies specializing in aluminium processing. NONFERMET is organized in partnership with the Institute of Non-ferrous Metals in Gliwice.
On 29 September, the exhibition halls of Targi Kielce hosted also the 10th Fair of Industrial Measuring Technology CONTROL–TECH, with the largest players on the market - Poland’s major companies specializing in the distribution of coordinate measurement machines and manual measuring instruments - displaying products and services at their stands. In total, there were 90 producers and distributors. Patronage of this event was provided by the Kielce University of Technology, the President of the Polish Centre for Research and Certification, and the Central Office of Measures.
Owing to the considerable attention received by the Fair of Industrial Measuring Technology, this event is also held in Kielce in the spring season, accompanying, among others, the International Exhibition of Metal Working and Metal Machining STOM. In this year 300 companies from 23 countries take part of the fair.
