Hubert Max Köbach new head of Siemens VAI´s Long Rolling Business

Hubert Max Köbach has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Morgan Construction Company and head of Siemens VAI Metals Technologies Long Rolling Business, replacing Philip R. Morgan on 4 January 2010. Philip Morgan has taken on a consulting role with the Worcester, Massachusetts, USA company he led as President and CEO for 23 years.  Morgan Construction Company, which specializes in high-speed long rolling, heavy duty bearings (Morgoil) and rolling mill equipment including after market services, was acquired by Siemens in April 2008.

Köbach has been with Siemens since 1987 in a variety of positions, from application engineer to project director, business unit manager and since 2000, within the Siemens US organization. He was named Chief Operating Officer of Siemens VAI MT SM Long Rolling in October 2009. Köbach holds an electrical engineering degree from the Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) Dortmund-Hagen, Germany and underwent a three-year apprenticeship in plant and machinery.

The Siemens Long Rolling Business is headquartered in Worcester; Massachusetts, USA, and has operations and manufacturing facilities in Marnate/Italy, Mumbai and Shanghai. The business is part of Siemens VAI Metals Technologies, one of the world´s leading supplier of technologies, solutions and services for the mining industry, iron and steel making, continuous casting, flat and long rolling as well as the aluminum industry.
