The first ever mega gathering of steel technology & equipment suppliers and steel makers Steel Technology Conclave was inaugurated on April 16th 2012 by Mr S Machendranathan, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor Ministry of Steel Government of India at The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon.
Guest of honour Dr SR Jain Former Chairman of SAIL called upon the technology suppliers to support the Indian steel makers by delivering the projects in time and for supporting the overall developments so that steel mills can boost their investments further.
The other dignitaries in the opening session included Mr VR Sharma CEO & Dy MD Steel Business of JSPL, Mr KK Mehrotra CMD of MECON Limited, Dr Jens Kempken Executive Vice President Project Development of SMS Siemag Germany, Mr Tad Sendzmir CEO of T Sendzimir Inc USA, Mr Arvind Kumar Jain Chairman of Bhilai Engineering Corp and Dr Dana of Dana Group.
After the opening session, presentations were made in two separate halls on Iron & Steel Making and Rolling Technology by experts from India as well as overseas.
The day 1 of the conference was attended by almost 400 participants from more than 170 companies.
The Day 2 on April 17th will also have a number of presentations on latest trends in steel technology
