India follows PM Modi: Mission Zero Defect

IFEX 2018 and 66. Indian Foundry Congress in Ahmedabad

Lesedauer: min

Working towards development for more than a decade now should be fruitful and the PM´s theme is becoming more realistic for India´s future.

IFEX 2018 and the 66. Indian Foundry Congress followed the President´s theme for the year and held the biggest IFEX ever with more than 300 exhibitors and the congress with about 1.500 delegates.

The current IIF President Amish Panchal announced with pride that the mission “Zero Defect” is imperative for the industry. This principle was embedded into IIF and should be the guide for the next ten years. The foundry industry is challenged in India and like the rest of the world, the congress discussed e-mobility in India up until 2030.

Driven by the guidelines from Chinese BRICS partner and customer requirements, the Indian foundry industry seemed to understand the challenge more than before.

The IFEX fair was indeed a first step to real, foreseeable development in performance as well as the list of top suppliers to the industry.

On behalf of foundry-planet.com we will follow India´s way of improvement and it´s role in the BRICS countries with interest. Together with the US casting industry, India is No. 2 producer of castings in the world and the question is whether the industry is open for the changes of the industry.

Foundry 4.0, e-mobility questions, autonomous driving, environmental standards, quality requirements have to be subordinated to this famous mission
