Jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI), indometal 2014 will be held from 11 to 13 December 2014 at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran, Indonesia. As a specialist trade fair, indometal 2014 focuses on the synergistic interrelations of foundry technology, casting products, metallurgy and thermoprocess technology, and is strategically positioned as the specialized business platform for the steel, aluminium, copper, cobalt, nickel and other metal sectors in Indonesia and the region. indometal 2014 will also provide attractive business opportunities to industry players keen to tap into the country’s vast business and investment potential.

Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, Mr Gernot Ringling says: “We’re happy to present a bigger and even better second edition of indometal as it grows in standing as a must-attend event in the industry’s professionals sourcing and networking calendar. The growth in international participation this year where some 70% exhibitors will be coming from overseas demonstrates Indonesia and the region’s appeal which is in tandem with the progress of the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 which is fast approaching.”

He added: “indometal 2014 is an ideal B2B platform for industry decision-makers to explore an impressive portfolio of latest technology and innovation under one roof. The industry’s growth will be reflected with more leading international companies exhibiting, high-profile visitors and wider partnerships with established industry organisations.” According to Mrs Rini Sumardi, Director of WAKENI, “indometal has recorded steady progress and strong growth potential since the inaugural edition last year. This second edition of the biennial event also shares the same objective of last year’s first edition, which is to bring together leading brand names in the metal and steel industry from Indonesia and abroad. It is a favourable means to provide lucrative exposure for companies with medium and long-term strategic plans to do business in Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia.    indometal 2014 will deliver global expertise and innovations that local industry visitors are looking for to enhance their business and manufacturing capabilities.”

A large number of international first-time exhibitors have registered for participation at indometal 2014, including BHARTIA GROUP and ELECTROTHERM from India, CHS-ASIA and GROWELL MANUFACTURING from Thailand, BLISS & REELS as well as POR PRECISION INDUSTRY from Singapore representing EUROLLS,  TOSCELIK ABRASIVES from Turkey, INSERTEC from Spain, Gautschi Engineering GmbH from Switzerland and others. Prominent Indonesian companies such as foundry supplier; AKBAR BUDI SAKTI, steel specialists; STAINLESS STEEL PRIMA VALVE MAJU BERSAMA, recarburizer distributor; OCTO CORINDO SARANA, importer of foundry materials; BARALOGAM MULTIJAYA, metallurgical products supplier; HALTRACO, equipment supplier; MAKMUR META GRAHA DINAMIKA and heat resistant materials specialists, CAPREFINDO will put forward newer principal brands secured for the robust domestic markets including MORESCO, GRAPH-HEX, VESUVIUS REFRACTORY, GFE-MIR, ELKEM and many others.

Strong National Pavilions Supported By Leading Industry Authorities

National pavilions from Austria, China, Germany, Italy and Taiwan also demonstrate the importance of indometal 2014 in bringing the best global technologies from top metal technology producing nations into Indonesia. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) are for the first time supporting a German group participation, giving 15 companies the opportunity to present their highly sought-after products and renowned services. 9 Austrian companies lead the pavilion alongside the Austrian Wire & Cable Machinery Manufacturers’ Association. With 29 companies, the Italy Pavilion features a tailor-made concept exhibition to showcase the best of Italian expertise. The Italian Pavilion is organized by ICE-Italian Trade Agency in collaboration with AMAFOND, the Italian Association of Foundry Suppliers and the Chamber of Commerce of Udine. Supported by the Metallurgical Counci
l of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China pavilion presents 19 companies. The Taiwan pavilion has the largest participation with 33 companies presenting the country’s top manufacturers for metal components, metallurgical fabrication, contract manufacturing and many others.

Relevant Technologies And More Innovations To Meet Market Demands

Key technologies for the metal and steel markets across major end-use sectors such as building and construction, manufacturing, automotive, power and heavy machinery are coming into particular focus at indometal 2014. This is especially significant against Indonesia’s robust construction sector which saw the country consume the second highest volume of steel in the ASEAN region in 2013 in line with the government’s push for the National Connectivity Vision 2015 where considerable investment has been placed in building roads, seaports, airport, railways, and power generation, to connect the new economic corridors throughout Indonesia.

Mr Ir. Achmad Safiun, Chairman of Indonesian Foundry Industries Association (APLINDO) said that "As an exhibition for the metals and materials industry, indometal brings together investors and decision makers from leading companies around the world and will present metal processing technologies, machines and equipment for steel and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper. This exhibition will help metal industry businesses measure the extent to which technological development can be directly utilized. This opportunity will determine or to some extent provide benchmarks on relevant machinery and equipment that can provide solutions to effective and efficient production needs.”

Echoing this, Mr Dasep Ahmadi, Chairman of Federation of Indonesian Metalworks & Machinery Industries Association (GAMMA) highlighted that "indometal 2014 features metal and locally-manufactured equipment by producers in the domestic market, alongside the latest machines and products from market leaders and technology innovators of well-known brands in the world. This will be very attractive to potential investors in order to support Indonesia’s industrial development and expansion.”

This market optimism is also reflected at this year’s indotools showcase which will enhance the trade fair’s position as the meeting place for the Indonesian and regional metal and steel industry and its application sectors. indotools is an open-concept showcase concentrated on high-technology tooling solutions, precision tooling, and cost-effective tooling systems and synergistically complements indometal 2014.
