Khodro plans to setup car manufacturing plant in Turkey

Lesedauer: min

Iran Khodro Industrial Group is still continuing its quest for the most appropriate location in Turkey to build a car manufacturing plant.

As per report, the plant is primarily targeting motorists in the surrounding regions including Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania.

Already enjoying a big demand for its Samand and Soren models among Turkish consumers, IKCO has been looking for an opportunity to invest in Turkey's burgeoning auto industry for nearly a year now, since the Iranian Industries and Mines Ministry requested IKCO's presence in the Turkish market with a manufacturing facility.

Mr Yigit Seskir GM of MYS Automotive, IKCO's distributor in Turkey recalled the visit of a delegation including Mr Ali Akbar Mehrabian Iran's industries and mines minister and Mr Javad Najmeddin GM of IKCO last week in Ankara to investigate the progress in the process of investment.

Mr Seskir said that the delegation also held a meeting with Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Çaglayan. He said that the project is about to be completed. The studies to find the most suitable place for the plant are continuing and we hope to find this place shortly.
