The world's leading supplier of core production technology, Laempe Mössner Sinto from Barleben (Saxony-Anhalt) has successfully completed its fair participation at the GIFA (25/6/-29/6/2019 in Dusseldorf, Germany), the world's leading trade fair for the foundry industry. The company had more than 3,500 visitors over five days of the fair and was able to assert its position as a technology leader in front of an international audience with innovative products and services.

"GIFA is the worldwide leading trade fair for the foundry industry and we had one goal for this international exhibition: Laempe Mössner Sinto should consistently present itself as a complete solution provider for core production, which already has the technologies of tomorrow in view today. We succeeded in doing this, that was our impression and also the feedback from many visitors at the booth, explained Andreas Mössner, Managing Director of Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH.

The new magnetic drive: optimization of an existing system
With the core shooters LHL30 (customer: Wencan) and LN10 (customer: Japanese OEM), Laempe had two exhibits on the booth, which were directly delivered to the respective customer after the show. By means of the study of the completely new linear drive using magnetic technology, Laempe has shown that relevant innovations and therefore efficiency gains are possible in the highly developed segment of core shooting machines. Keyword efficiency: The overriding goal of Laempe solutions is to permanently reduce unit costs in core production. This is realized in the joint venture company INACORE in Ergoldsbach  Bavaria), whose production was presented via VR glasses and a large 3 x 3 meter screen at GIFA.

Specific Industry 4.0 applications at the Laempe booth
Laempe successfully transported the possibilities of Industry 4.0 through the "Digital Cockpit" - the "app store" for core production. The software was developed by digital startup and Laempe partner pragmatic  industries and implemented together with INACORE at its core shop. In the "core production of the future", the comprehensive machine data material has been collected and analyzed for a year already; with partially significant results, which are of great importance in the foundry environment. "This specific application of Industry 4.0 has impressed many of our customers and visitors to the booth. We have recognized the needs of our customers with this topic and are very proud that all machines produced from GIFA on will have the technical prerequisites for using the Digital Cockpit", says Frank Arlt, Managing Director of Laempe Mössner Sinto.

Furthermore, the team of inspectomation systems, a new division of Laempe Mössner Sinto, presented Laempe's newly acquired competence in the field of automatic visual inspection with the "Disk Inspector". "We are convinced that this technology will provide some key impetus in core manufacturing. In the context of 'Industry 4.0', automated quality control of cores and castings will become very important ‒ especially for applications in the field of 3-D printing, "explains Rudolf Wintgens, Managing Director of Laempe Mössner Sinto.

3-D-printing: A successful example for the "Laempe way"
The biggest technological highlight at the Laempe booth was the presentation of Laempe's own 3-D LCP printer (Laempe Core Printer) ‒ an in-house development for inorganic binder systems with a much higher printing speed than previously available on the market. The first industrial application is planned for the end of 2019. "The feedback on our 3-D printing solution was consistently positive and the printer met with great interest. After GIFA we feel even more encouraged that our path in this future-oriented field is the right one for Laempe Mössner Sinto and that we will now be the driving force behind a disruptive process", concludes Andreas Mössner.
