Phoenix and MiaSolé enter solar thin-film agreement

Lesedauer: min

Phoenix Solar AG has entered a framework agreement with copper-indium-gallium-selenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solar panels manufacturer MiaSolé for 2.4 MW thin-film modules.
MiaSolé will deliver the solar thin-film modules in the second quarter of 2010, and the agreement will run until 2013.

The agreement also includes a recycling warranty, although Phoenix Solar says the warranty is “where required by regulation or financing”. At the end of a module’s life cycle, MiaSolé can collect the thin-film solar modules from customers and have them recycled or reconditioned.

According to Phoenix Solar, Santa Clara, California based MiaSolé’s frameless glass-glass solar thin-film modules can be used for roofs as well as for ground-mounted systems, and can be manufactured in almost all modules shapes.

The current conversion efficiency of MiaSolé’s thin-film solar module is 10.5% with a higher efficiency product to be shipped at the end of 2010.
