Russia auto output in Q1 up by 53pct YoY

According to ASM Holding which monitors the country auto industry, Russia auto output in Q1 2010 saw an increase of 52.6%YoY to 218,057 units.

Accordingly, in Q1 2010, Russia passenger car output went up by 56.1%YoY to 190,045 units, its truck output increased by 36.4%YoY to 21,885 units while its bus output rose by 21.2%YoY to 6,220 units.

In January to March this year, Russia largest carmaker AvtoVAZ increased its output by 49.6%YoY to 79,119 cars, Avtotor raised its output by 2.6 times to 20,573 cars, Kamaz increased its production by 16.7%YoY to 5,711 trucks, Volkswagen Russian unit increased its output by 1.9 times YoY to 23,891 cars, the Russian unit of Ford Motor Company increased its output by 1.2 times YoY to 15,300 cars, while Avtoframos, the joint venture of Renault and the local Moscow government, raised its production by 1.5 times to 18,802 cars.
