South Korea: Mobis appoints new CEO

According to a report in the Korea Times, citing a company press release, Chun Ho-seok, head of the Hyundai Mobis R&D centre, has been named as the new chief executive officer of the company, a key supplier of modules and components to Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors.

Chun was quoted as saying in the press release: "Amid the automotive industry's paradigm shift, Mobis will nurture future technologies in advance by giving more authority to research and development (R&D) fields."

The new chief executive started his career at Hyundai in 1979 and was in charge of Mobis' R&D centre through 2009. Chun has a master's degree from Cranfield University School of Management in the UK and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Seoul National University in South Korea.
