In cooperation with our contractor, National Steel City, the Construction Management Team at ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA immediately shut down construction operations and contacted the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, the Coroner and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration who arrived on site to launch a cooperative investigation into this tragic incident."

ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA has suspended all construction activity at the site through tomorrow. The operational manufacturing units were not impacted by the construction incident and remain in production.

News 5 has contacted the Mobile County Sheriff's office and the contractors of ThyssenKrupp, National Steel City, for more information about the incident.

This is the second death at the plant in recent months. In November 2011, Mr Joseph Dudewicz, a crane operator was killed when he was caught between two stainless steel coils.
