USA - MetalTek Completes Acquisition of Sandusky

Lesedauer: min

Metalcasting conglomerate MetalTek International, Waukesha, Wis., has completed its previously-announced acquisition of Sandusky International Inc., Sandusky, Ohio.

The companies first announced their planned deal to combine expertise in papermaking machinery and engineered centrifugally cast products in September. Sandusky employs centrifugal casting technology to produce stainless steel and bronze suction roll shells and other products for the worldwide paper machinery market. In addition to its headquarters in Sandusky, the company has operations in Glenrothes, Scotland.

Operating from five separate facilities in the U.S. and U.K., MetalTek provides metal castings to customers in more than 30 countries and in seven major markets.

“We are excited to have assembled what we believe is the most powerful force in centrifugal casting throughout the world,” said Robert Smickley, MetalTek’s president and chief executive officer.

The combined company now employs more than 1,000 people in seven facilities in the U.S., England and Scotland.
