The WFO is working with AMCOL Metalcasting to promote training modules for foundries around the world.
AMCOL Metalcasting recently unveiled the unique training program designed to provide simple and clear support for the foundry industry through short, visual training modules to a larger and more diverse range of people working in the foundry industry. The training program – known as AMCOL University – contains a significant volume of information on the greensand process and applies didactic and illustrated presentation methods providing foundrymen with an easily accessible means of learning or modifying their existing knowledge.
Despite having its beginnings in the ancient past, the greensand process is widely used and continues to be considered a modern and efficient moulding technology throughout the world. AMCOL understands that education and training play an increasingly essential role in today’s foundries as the focus on quality and control of greensand systems grows with the application of modern high-pressure moulding equipment.
Time allocated for training is always limited, making it is essential to provide innovative education tools that capitalise on modern technology and are relevant to all foundrymen, especially those who are new to the industry. As such, AMCOL has developed an interactive, self-guided online educational program consisting of short and concise modules and self-evaluations. Working with the WFO much of this information will be widely available to foundrymen in all parts of the world.
