Die Maschinenbau Böhmer GmbH wurde 1983 von Christoph Böhmer in Appigseifen/Ww. gegründet.
Vorrangig wurden Sonder-Schweißvorrichtungen für die Container- und Raumzellenindustrie sowie Bandschleifmaschinen für die Kraftwerksindustrie entwickelt und hergestellt. Mit der nach dem Stand der Technik orientierten Ausstattung zur spanabhebenden Fertigung war man ferner in der Lage, anspruchsvolle Maschinen- und
Produktkomponenten in Lohnfertigung herzustellen.
Durch den Umzug nach Steinebach in 1998 erfolgte die zwischenzeitlich notwendig gewordene Erweiterung des Unternehmens, insbesondere der Produktionsfläche. Mit ständig neuen und kundenorientierten Lösungen entwickelte sich das Unternehmen kontinuierlich weiter und ist heute ein mittelständisches Unternehmen mit über 50 Mitarbeitern.
Ein wesentlicher Meilenstein ist die in 2003 begonnene Serienproduktion von Turboladerkomponenten für die Automotive-Produktion, welche auf den eigens dafür entwickelten und selbst hergestellten Schweißmaschinen und Werkzeugen produziert werden.

| 2003 | Acquisition of an additional production building in Steinebach adds another 2000 square meters specifically for the production of automotive components. Today the company employs about 80 people. A new building for offices and management is being planned. |
| 2002 | Facilities expanded by 1000 square meters to a total of 2200 square meters. |
| 1998 | The company moves to its current location in Steinebach. Newly-acquired facilities with 1200 square meters of space permit increased production and product development. 30 employees. |
| 1992 | Maschinenbau Böhmer GmbH established. The company now employs 25 people and begins planning a new production hall. |
| 1989 | Introduction of modern office communications and data processing with the acquisition of a computer system with 10 terminals. |
| 1987 | Christoph Böhmer purchases Erich F. Baurmann, a maker of industrial systems. |
| 1984 | The first permanent employee and two job-trainees are hired. A steadily expanding range of products enables the company to grow to 15 employees by 1987. |
| 1983 | Christoph Böhmer establishes Maschinenbau Christoph Böhmer in Wissen, a town east of Cologne in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The company focuses mainly on the development and production of belt grinders for the power generating industry. |
