Kurtz high-speed trimming press enthuses the specialist audience at the EUROGUSS
After the impressive appearance in 2016, Kurtz Foundry Machines went even further at the EUROGUSS 2018 and put one on top: the unmistakable highlight at the Kurtz trade fair stand and, at 8.5 metres in height, the most impressive exhibit at the specialist trade fair in Nuremberg was the third generation of the Kurtz innovation press KPS 2000/25-12 SKT. From 16 to 18 January, the international public admired the trimming press in live operation and gained extensive information about optimised technological conditions. Once again, the 12th edition of the EUROGUSS offered an international platform to obtain information and exchange ideas about the latest technologies, processes and products to do with die casting.
The Kurtz Foundry Machines business area presented the low-noise, 4-column trimming press KPS 2000/25-12 SKT in Nuremberg in the sliding-tilting table finish with maximum energy efficiency thanks to speed-controlled motor-pump drives. The new Kurtz machine is impressive – not only with its outer dimensions – but above all with efficient technology, new controls and remarkable output data: 200 tonnes of pressing power, reduced noise development below 72 dB(A) and, compared with the previous 2015 model, up to 35% faster movements. Thanks to optional condition monitoring, leak detection can be carried out, important machine data such as temperature, pressure, air consumption and central lubrication system can be permanently monitored and evaluated. In this way, matching maintenance work is planned in the run-up and machine standstills or downtimes can be avoided.
The Kurtz trade fair team led by Managing Director Uwe Rothaug and Lothar Hartmann, Head of Profit Centre Foundry Machines, drew a positive balance for the EUROGUSS 2018, which enabled numerous qualified contacts to existing customers and potential new customers. “With the completely revised hydraulic concept (increased output with reduced energy consumption), low-noise rotary drive with high torque and a user-friendly wizard tool change, our new trimming press determines the cycle time in the die casting cell. Our high-speed press guarantees an extremely efficient production of aluminium die cast parts with maximum availability. We were able to convince numerous customers and interested parties of this, doubtless producing exciting projects in the near future,” said Lothar Hartmann at the end of the trade fair.
With 642 exhibitors from 33 countries and a trade fair area which was completely booked out with an exhibition area of more than 18,750 m2, the 12th edition of the EUROGUSS did justice to its status as Europe’s largest and most important trade fair in the field of die casting. 15,000 specialist visitors got information about innovative solutions for the production and application of die-cast parts of aluminium, magnesium and zinc.
