ALUMEX GROWING

The Alumex convention-exhibition on aluminium in the Middle East, which took place last 22nd to 24th April at the Dubai World Trade Center, closed down with great success.

As a confirmation of the wide attention drawn by the exhibition on an area of development for this light metal, the event was opened at the presence of Mr Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Presidente od Dubal and CEO of Dubai Water and Electricity Authority, Mr Abdulla J.M. Kalban and Mr Walid Al Attar, top managers of DUBAL, many diplomatic delegates of several embassies and consulates, the top managers of major local companies such as Emirates Extrusion Factory, Gulf Extrusion, Rajhi Steel, and Mr Abdullah Tayyeb, General Manager of the Dubai World Trade Centre.
More than one hundred exhibiting companies coming from all over the world, a participation of more than 3000 visitors (+30% over the 2005 edition), a top level technical convention on light alloy technologies and in particular on their applications in the building sector, a huge number of new contracts and transactions concluded: this is Alumex in short, the sole event in the Middle East and in the MENA area specialized in Aluminium and Industrial Metal Technologies and able to draw the attention of entrepreneurs, designers and technologists. The contribution to the remarkable qualitative leap of this exhibition came on one hand from the support of DUBAL, main sponsor of the event, and from the cooperation with Edimet-Metef on the other for what concerned the organization and management of side conventions, and for the organizational and marketing support to the event as a whole. The warm welcome to the attendees by Walid Al Attar, Marketing and Sales Director of Dubal, and the appeals by Mario Conserva of Edimet on the need of an ongoing technological exchange between the previous and new factors of aluminium in the world give precise indications on the good outlooks for next Alumex in 2009.
