Innovative ideas and high-tech products close up: with the "Innovation Areas", ALUMINIUM 2012 creates three new special exhibitions which quite literally make the versatility of aluminium a tangible experience for visitors. At the new special areas, exhibitors present the latest trends and products from the subject areas of Automotive / Transport, Building and Solar Innovations.
At the special display area "Automotive/Transport Innovations" in Hall 10, the range extends from hybrid-forged drive flanges via crankcases and luggage compartment recesses to aluminium foams and components of the new Range Rover Evoque. Apart from TRIMET, LEIBER, Constellium and Novelis, also participating are AMAG and Keihin Seimitsu Kogyo with automotive engineering exhibits.
At the "Building Innovations" segment in Hall 13, exhibitors such as ALCOA, Suisse Technology Partners, MANTEL DIGITAL and DECORAL SYSTEM present solutions for the field of architecture which include a solution for a media façade with integrated LED technology, self-cleaning surface coatings or printed aluminium surfaces.
An aerodynamic assembly system for solar modules and aluminium absorbers are two of the exhibits on display at the "Solar Innovations" special area in Hall 11. Here METRA, ALUMERO and Standard-Metallwerke present their products for the solar industry.
ALUMINIUM 2012: Meeting place for the international world of aluminium
In addition to the subject areas of Automotive, Building or Solar Innovations 950 exhibitors from 50 countries present the complete value chain of the aluminium industry in Düsseldorf from 9 to 11 October. The trade fair brings together aluminium producers and processors, suppliers of semi-finished and finished products and surface treatments as well as manufacturers of machinery, plant and accessory for the production, further processing and finishing of aluminium products. Supported by the GDA Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie and the EAA European Aluminium Association the trade fair presents the industry's complete range of products and services every two years: from the production of the material to processing through to the final product.
From the Ruhr to the Rhine
In 2012, ALUMINIUM will take place in Düsseldorf for the first time. As a result, the trade fair location Düsseldorf will further strengthen its role as the internationally leading trade fair location for the world's leading metal and plastics trade fairs. Until 2010, the trade fair was held at the Essen Exhibition Centre which unfortunately did not have the necessary capacities of top-quality exhibition space. Together with the parallel COMPOSITES EUROPE 2012, ALUMINIUM is the most important lightweight construction summit of the year. Together, both events expect more than 1,300 exhibitors from 50 countries.
