AWEBA Symposium with high attendance

New production method in the automotive engineering

Reading time: min

Nearly 300 top- class attendants were coming to the „Aweba die shop" in Aue, Germany at the end of september, to discuss perspectives and technologies around the theme drive engineering/ powertrain. The one- day professional symposium had the motto „mobile future needs innovative tools". That the theme was accurate appears in the high attendance. Automobile manufacturer, TIER 1 and component supplier were represented, as well as top- class professors.

In exciting speeches referees from the circle of OEMs informed component suppliers and universities about leading technologies and gave forecasts in the world of the mobility future. It became apparent, that the automobile industry has to deal with great challenges. The bondage to sustainability and ecology, the change to alternative drive system concepts, as well as a changing purchase behavior of the clients compel to a rethinking.

How the tool manufacturer will react to this change, was revealed by Aweba with interesting contributions from their point of view. The Powertrain- specialists were introducing innovative methods of the sheet metal forming and technologies in toolmaking, which afford totally new production methods with significant potentials for costs decreases. Special highlight here: a new developed method, that enables the construction of synchron coils and clutch bodies as a high classed metal forming. The expensive metal- cutting constructions could be partly history in the near future. More about the leading manufacturing processes will be published  shortly by AWEBA.

The invited guests of the circle of the OEMs, Tier 1 and the automotive suppliers came numerously to Aue, to inform themselves about the new technologies of the automotive engineering.

Axel Wittig, CEO of the WEBO GmbH, a company of the Aweba group gave a forecast on innovative tool- technologies.

Professor Dr.-Ing. Mathias Liewald, director of the institute for metal forming at the University of Stuttgart, was discussing the importance and the problem fields of todays light construction concepts on the Aweba Symposium.

Aweba- CEO opened the professional symposium in Aue in front of 300 invited guests.
