China Knowledge reported that China's Baosteel Group Corp is currently in talks with the government of Brazil's Rio de Janeiro to set up a steel plant there. Mr Sérgio Cabral Filho the governor of Rio de Janeiro State will visit China to deliver an promotional video to Chinese representatives. The proposed steel plant would be located in the logistics and industry zone near Rio de Janeiro Port. Previously, Baosteel and Brazil-based iron ore maker Companhia Vale do Rio Doce dropped their plans to set up steel plants in Brazil.
