After the already completed extension for high-grade products especially for auto-motive applications at their Dangjin integrated steel mill, the South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel now invests in downstream equipment.
In connection with this increase in capacity, BRAUN Maschinenfabrik, the specialist for high performance cut-off machines and high-pressure surface grinding machines, has been awarded to supply 4 high-pressure surface grinding machines, type HP 6, for bright, edge and fault grinding of billets including additional material handling and automation equipment.
The maximum billet cross section is 200 x 200 mm and the maximum length at 12 m.
Starting from the infeed roller table up to the take-over devices after the grinding machine, all processes can be done fully automatically controlled and monitored.
The BRAUN billet grinding equipment will start operation in the fourth quarter of 2015.
