Mr Mick is senior sales manager (heavy castings) at Sheffield Forgemasters International Limited and has more than 30 years experience in steel and engineering sectors. He has been a member of the association since 2008 and takes over the reins from Sheffield's Kevin Parkin who stepped down as chairman this autumn after serving a two year term. Mr Mick said that "Kevin, and vice chairman Mike Sorby, have helped guide the association through one of the worst economic recessions in modern times. Despite losing some members resulting from voluntary liquidation and business reorganizations the BMPCA has continued to host successful events and now have annual fixtures on the calendar. He said that "The association, as a result of their efforts, is now in much better shape to proceed with confidence into the next decade and I look forward to playing a major part in its continued development."
