Regensburg, February 6, 2012. Wolfgang Breuer, until recently on the board of the Mahle Group which supplies the automotive industry, took over as head of Continental's Engine Systems Business Unit on February 1, 2012. This, the largest business unit in the Powertrain Division, develops and produces engine management systems, injection systems and inno-vative system solutions for diesel and gasoline engines. Until now, it had been headed by Gerhard Böhm who has resigned from this post at his own request and who will be leaving Continental on May 31 to devote himself once more to his own consulting company. "We of-fer our thanks to Mr. Böhm for his valuable contribution during a particularly turbulent period and wish him all the best and every success as he sets out on his own", said José Avila, member of the board of management and head of the Powertrain Division. "We are delighted that we were able to persuade Mr. Breuer, an experienced and successful executive man-ager, to come and work for us again."

Wolfgang Breuer returns to Siemensstrasse in Regensburg, where both the Powertrain Divi-sion and the Engine Systems Business Unit are headquartered, as a manager with a strong track record at Continental. Until 2010, Mr. Breuer (45) was head of Continental Powertrain's Sensors & Actuators Business Unit. With a degree in electrical engineering, he embarked on his professional career in 1994 as project manager for mobile data applications and vehicle communications at Siemens Mobile Phones where he founded the new Wireless Modules Division which he headed until July 2000. Next, employed by Siemens Ltd., China, he estab-lished cellphone R&D centers in Beijing and Shanghai and, from China, managed the global cellphone entry segment.

At the end of 2003, Wolfgang Breuer transferred to Siemens VDO in the Powertrain Sensors Business Unit. Here, as an electronics specialist, he was initially head of the Smart Sensors segment and, from the beginning of 2006, the Drivetrain Segment. After the company was acquired by Continental, he was, from October 2007, in charge of Powertrain's Sensors & Actuators Business Unit. In October 2010, Mr. Breuer was appointed to the Mahle GmbH Group's board where, until his return to Continental, he was responsible for the Filtration and Engine Peripherals Business Unit.
