GM China sales in Feb up by 30pct YoY

China Knowledge reported that US based auto giant General Motors Corp and its China joint ventures sold a total of 240,554 vehicles in February this year, representing a YoY increase of 30.4% due to a low comparable figure and the robust sales of Buick vehicles.

Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd, the joint venture between GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp, sold 103,097 cars last month, reflecting the highest February sales on record. The JV delivered 52,773 Buick vehicles last month up by 31.1%YoY.

FAW-GM, the joint venture between GM and FAW Group, saw its sales jump 39.2%YoY to 7,068 units in February. In the first two months of this year, GM and its China joint ventures sold 487,208 cars in total, 7.7% more than in the same period of last year.
