IN - Honda Motorcycle eying 18pct sales growth in 2010

Two wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said that it is expecting its sales to grow by 18% during the current fiscal on the back of several launches. The company has already launched a new Activa and a new version of 125 cc bike CBF Stunner and is planning to launch a 100 cc bike by March 2010.

Mr Naresh Kumar Rattan operating head (Sales and Marketing) of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India “So far we have grown by 26% within this fiscal and our target is to increase sales by 18% in 2009-10.” He added that the company had sold 1.07 million units last fiscal and is aiming to sell over 1.25 million units by March 2010.

Mr Rattan further added that “In the first four months of this fiscal, our motorcycle sales have grown by 45% while scooter segment moved upwards by 10%. We have already launched a new Activa and a new version of our 125 cc bike CBF Stunner.”
