Reading time: min

The inaugural indometal 2013 will field a host of international exhibitors from 22 countries, with national groups and pavilions from Austria, China, India, Italy, Taiwan and the UK, as well as major players from Germany, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. Running 20 – 23 February 2013 at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran (Jakarta, Indonesia), indometal 2013 is driven by the industry’s leading trade fairs – GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, NEWCAST – organized by Messe Düsseldorf in Germany.

With its wide internationality, indometal 2013 serves as the ideal platform to introduce new technologies, products and solutions from market leaders in the metal and steel industries across the globe, to Indonesia and the region.

Exhibiting under the Italian country pavilion is PERT Srl, whose core business is in steel mills and general engineering, specialising in rolling mill plant design. PERT’s innovations promise flexible, efficient customised plant solutions and equipment for the steel industry.

PERT’s key objective at indometal 2013 is to introduce their company and products to the Indonesian market. “Our new technologies are suitable for the Indonesian market which needs the latest innovations in the production processes in order to be competitive on the international market”, said Dr. Matteo Tomba, Technical and Commercial Director at PERT Srl

At indometal 2013, PERT will feature some of their latest developments and products: a patented rolling stand with revolutionary design, 6 variations of finishing blocks for rebar and wire rod production, as well as other innovations in the hot rolling mill sector.

From Japan, IGUCHI KIKO CO., LTD. (ISB) is a leading manufacturer of Ball Transfers and Turn Tables. Ball transfers have become an integral component across industries as an essential solution used in material handling systems. Extensive application of ball transfers can be found in the automotive, FPD, photovoltaic, food plants, medical, construction and several other industries.

“We would like to motivate our customers with cutting-edge technology – high precision ball transfers and turn tables for factory solutions for more efficiency in the production line”, mentioned Hajime Komatsu, Overseas Sales Manager at Iguchi Kiko.

In keeping with their philosophy, ISB will present new technology at indometal 2013, showcasing their pneumatic air ball lifters, which enables quick die change, creating a safer environment on the work floor.

BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH will exhibit under the Austrian country pavilion. They are recognized in Europe, North America and North Asia as the leading supplier of cutting and grinding machines for semi-finished steel and special alloy products, used mainly in rolling mills, forges, foundries, pipe mills, manufacturing workshops and metallurgical research labs. BRAUN’s professional services also extend to consulting engineering for project studies and planning engineering, and project management for executing contracts and site services.

The experts at BRAUN recognise the need for the steel and metal industries in Southeast Asia to keep pace with Asia’s larger markets. BRAUN sees their participation in indometal 2013 as “an excellent opportunity for customers in Indonesia and neighbouring countries to meet BRAUN’s key experts and to learn more about BRAUN’s innovative range of products and services”, says Gerhard Richter, Vice President of the Steel Cutting & Grinding Machines Division. Mr Richter echoes the company’s belief that their innovative steel cutting and grinding machines, consulting engineering services and professional technical support can provide the ideal solution for the Southeast Asian customer to remain competitive. Among the latest developments that BRAUN will showcase at the exhibition will be a high-performance abrasive cut-off machine.

indometal 2013 inaugurates at a most opportune time for both international and domestic stakeholders to explore the demands and supply the needs of Indonesia’s metal and steel industry. “Given that Indonesia’s steel industry is capable of producing 5.5 million tonnes of total steel products annually, and with higher production levels expected in the coming years, this projected increase reflects a growing need for newer technologies to spur more efficient and cost effective production processes”, concludes Shirley Lim, General Manager of  Messe Düsseldorf Asia.
