International 52th Foundry Conference in Portoroz, Slovenia

Reading time: min

It is already the 52th conference of the Slovenian Foundry Industry which took place from 12th - 14th september 2012 in Portoroz, at the coast of the adria sea.

Around 200 participants from 15 different countries including Germany, India, Britain and Italy took part. This number of people is quite high taking into consideration that the confernece was parallel or close to several other big events..

As one of the few occurences of its kind in Europe, the nine plenary lectures and 24 speeches separated in "Cast Iron and Casting Technology" and "Non-Ferrous Alloys" were held in English language and was distributed also completely in written form to all participants. The English language is, in addition to the attractive location, one of the reasons for the international acceptance of this event.

The Thursday night was used, as each year, for networking and the exchange of expertises on two boats along the Slovenian coast. The cloudy weather was the reason why the subsequent evening with musical interlude didn't take place on the terrace overlooking the casino "Riviera", but in the Grand Hotel. Normally for this event there has been almost a fair-weather guarantee.

2013 the conference will be held from 11.th to 13.th September.
