International Trade Fair Quartet

consisting of GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST

From 12 to 16 June 2007, the international trade fair quartet GIFA/METEC/THERMPROCESS/NEWCAST will give an encore performance at the Düsseldorf exhibition grounds. The focus is on the latest trends from all areas of metal production and processing, as well as casting, smelting and forming. The team of four trade fairs is accompanied by a comprehensive, internationally focused congress programme.

Technical Forum of the World Foundrymen Organisation (WFO)

The German Foundrymen Association (Verein Deutscher Gießereifachleute, VDG) and the World Foundrymen Organization (WFO) jointly offer the Technical Forum in connection with GIFA 2007. This event will be held from 12 to 16 June 2007 in hall 10 and includes all topic areas connected to innovative process technology for foundries. The main target groups are decision-makers, scientists and foundry specialists from all over the world. In addition, the VDG will offer “Foundry Forum” as a special event providing information on the services and information offers that are available as printed media and on the Internet.

Foundry Specialists Exchange Opinions with Buyers of Cast Parts

Dialogue is of the foremost importance at the NEWCAST Forum and the NEWCAST special exhibitions that are also organised by VDG. Under the heading “Bio-engineering of castings – learning by nature”, design engineers from the fields of mechanical engineering and vehicle construction get together with foundry specialists to discuss current topics centred around innovative casting constructions and cast components. The events are open to visitors on 13 and 15 June 2007 in hall 10.

Top-quality Industry Events at METEC 2007

Two professional congresses held parallel to METEC 2007 focus on central developments in the metallurgy industry. The Steel Institute (Stahlinstitut VDEh) is holding the 3rd International Steel Congress InSteelCon from 11 to 15 June 2007 and informs on new developments within the metallurgy processing technology. About 80 experts will present daily at the CCD.Süd at Messe Düsseldorf on the important steps in the steel production process. From 11 to 14 June 2007, the Gesellschaft für Bergbau, Metallurgie, Rohstoff- und Umwelttechnik e.V. (GDMB), the Association for Mining, Metallurgy, Raw Material and Environmental Technology, is offering its 4th Metallurgical Conference at the CCD on the topic of development potentials in the area of non-ferrous metals production.

Comprehensive Supporting Programme at THERMPROCESS 2007

THERMPROCESS will also offer numerous supporting events. The THERMPROCESS Symposium, organised by the Association Thermo-process and Waste Disposal Technology under the auspices of the Association of Machinery and Plant Manufacturers (Fachverband Thermoprozess- und Abfalltechnik im Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, VDMA), will take place from 13 to 15 June 2007 in the THERMPROCESS exhibition halls. Here, company representatives will report on various topic areas such as heating, heat reclamation or sinter processes with a strong focus on technology. The special exhibition of the members of the research institutes of the Forschungsgemeinschaft Industrieofenbau, FOGI (Research Association for Industrial Kiln Engineering) will provide a further platform for an intensive exchange of information and experiences at an international level. The exhibition may be visited in the joint research hall of the four fairs. It spans the complete spectrum of industrial kiln engineering.

The 3rd special conference of the Deutsche Gesellschaft Feuerfest- und Schornsteinbau (German Association for Fireproof and Chimney Construction) is held on the first trade fair day (12 June 2007) at the CCD.Süd. In four sections, numerous presenters will provide information on the current situation in research and will discuss various current topics. Subsequently to the special conference, there will be a panel discussion on the topic, “Is the fireproof and chimney construction industry positioned well on a globalised market?”
