Intralogistics experts see big market potential in India

Reading time: min

CeMat IndiaIndia remains one of the fastest growing economies. Strong domestic demand is driving the economy, boosting industrial production and creating pressure to further develop the country's infrastructure. Efforts have focussed on the expansion and modernization of seaports and airport facilities, the construction of multi-modular logistics hubs and a tight network of central and intermediate storage facilities, including modern refrigerated warehouses. This all bodes well for CeMAT INDIA, which is a leading showcase for the entire intralogistics product portfolio. Everything that belongs to modern logistics and goods handling will be displayed, including cranes and lifting equipment, handling and conveyor systems, storage systems and loading equipment and machinery, as well as software and accessories for every aspect of goods handling.

On 6 December, CeMAT INDIA will be opening its doors for the fifth time. This year Bangalore will again be the location for the event, after Mumbai had hosted the trade fair for the last two years. "Alternating the venue between Mumbai and Bangalore has proven a good decision as it allows us to reach the various regions of India and thus increase the trade fair's outreach to potential trade visitors", explains Wolfgang Pech, Senior Vice President at Deutsche Messe AG.

Gordon Riske, CEO of the KION Group, whose brands include Voltas, one of the two market leaders on the Indian market for industrial trucks, has an extremely positive view of business trends in India: "From a long-term perspective, India is one of the most important growth markets for industrial trucks and handling systems. We can expect dynamic growth rates similar to those seen on the Chinese marketplace over the past two decades."

Voltas will be joined by other big names from the industry - for example, TVH, Konecranes, TCM, Atlet and Combilift. Approx. 100 exhibitors will be presenting their products and systems at CeMAT INDIA.

This year for the first time CeMAT INDIA will be augmented by a conference program organized by the Indian trade magazine LOG.INDIA. The conference will address topical issues of relevance to logistics. High-calibre representatives from international companies will be there to present the latest developments, outline strategies and trends, and offer appropriate solutions.

CeMAT INDIA will take place in conjunction with the trade fairs MDA INDIA, IA INDIA, SURFACE INDIA and LASER INDIA. These events cover the fields of power transmission and control technology, industrial automation, surface treatment and laser technology.
