The Baghdad Secretariat said it will build a bronze foundry for use in setting a number of memorials and statues in main squares and parks.

“The statements were made during Baghdad Secretary Saber al-Issawi’s meeting with a group of sculptors known as Alwan (Colors) to watch a number of examples innovated by those artists to implement in bronze and set at public places and squares,” according to a Baghdad Secretariat statement received by Aswat al-Iraq.

Alwan is a group of Iraqi sculptors who have long experience of 20 years in the art of sculpting and were contemporaries of Iraqi renowned pioneers like Jawad Saleem, Khaled al-Rahal, Ismail Fattah al-Turk and Mohammed Ghani Hekmat.
