Japanese steel scrap prices rise

JMB reported that Japanese Steel Scrap Composite Price increased to JPY 22,300 per tonne for H2 in fourth week of August, which is JPY 2,000 per tonne higher than previous week.

The price index, which is averaged scrap dealers' purchase price in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, increased by JPY 2,400 per tonne to JPY 26,000 per tonne for pressed new cutting scrap.

The price is JPY 4,400 per tonne higher for H2 and JPY 4,700 per tonne higher for new cutting grade from the beginning of the month.
