New Foundry- Centre at FHNW
First Swiss Establishment to dedicate itself to the needs at Foundry- Industry at the University of Applied Sciences FHNW. The new Centre at the Technical University in Brugg- Windisch will be inaugurated on May 18. 2010. Herewith the Swiss Foundries gain a professional scientific associate at their side with experienced and qualified specialists along with distinguished infrastructure. The Swiss Foundry-Industry is influenced by small and medium-sized-enterprises. Around 60 Foundries with about 3500 employees offer a whole range of top modern foundry-products and techniques to local and foreign clients. First Foundry-Centre of a Swiss University The Technical University FHNW places its practical experience and its well-founded scientific know-how to the disposal of the foundry branch.
| Broad cooperation offer The Foundry-Centre will be directed by acknowledged experts with long-standing experience in production and research, thus multiplying the school’s competence. The scope of cooperation offer ranges between classical casting and melting technique, modern Rapid Prototyping and numerical simulation casting processes. Most modern lab and computer infrastructure Due to modern lab and computer infrastructure, FHNW experts are able to provide support to departments with component and moulding-construction, casting techniques as well as material development. This includes inspection of raw material, mechanical conditioning, metrology and simulation. Diverse forms of cooperation Many years of experience in industry development at the Technical School’s foundry sector and raw material processing allow responding to sophisticated clients demands. Along with that comes provision of public financial aids in form of projects for technology and innovation commission, service projects and performance of students with mechanical and industrial-engineering study course. Lectures and further education training lead to rounding off the offer.
