With a view to benefitting from the infrastructural development in Macedonia and the neighbouring states over the next years, CRANFIELD FOUNDRY LTD. SKOPJE decided to plan a new iron foundry for drain pipe casting in 2014.
After planning was complete and the corresponding permits were granted, the construction of the new foundry is now starting at Probistip in eastern Macedonia.
In spring 2017 to the tune of 100 staff are expected to cast the first drain pipes here.
GEMCO ENGINEERS B.V. from Eindhoven (Netherlands) was selected with the implementation of this comprehensive investment project as the responsible subcontractor for all of the plant engineering.
“CYRUS has delivered to renowned drain pipe manufacturers, amongst others in Germany and Turkey, in the past, and is therefore thoroughly familiar with the requirements in this casting segment. This experience acquired with the vibration technology requirements in melting operations and downstream from moulding plants, were very valuable for us during the planning stage,” says Jeroen Geraedts, Project Engineer at GEMCO.
“Furthermore, CYRUS is committed to dialogue and we have known CYRUS as a reliable partner since 2003 from a project we jointly realized in Poland,” adds Oktay Kurutas, Project Manager at GEMCO Engineers B.V.
These were the decisive reasons why CYRUS was awarded with supplying for the casting-sand separation unit downstream from the moulding line and the mobile charging machines with a bunker volume of 4 m³ each for the melting area.
“Today, it is no longer sufficient to boast a long list of references.
In the suppliers’ assessment inter-cultural and communicative skills as well as soft skills play a prominent role. In cooperation the reliability of a partner was, is and will be of even higher significance.
This is why our principle reads: we never make any promises we can’t keep and we always deliver on our promises.
And this is what we will prove again over the next few months,” says Sven Borghoff, Head of Sales and Marketing at CYRUS GmbH Schwingtechnik reflecting during the kick-off meeting in Recklinghausen.
