In the field of ductile iron castings, demand is growing and FOMET has developed a new pouring furnace for production of castings in alloyed iron.
The production of quality castings in ductile iron poured manually into moulds on automatic indexed green sand moulding lines is foremost in a series of critical foundry operations.
That is the main reason why many large, medium and even small size foundries have started to demand and use automatic systems to pour nodular iron on their moulding lines.
FOMET is specialised in the field of pouring furnaces and is one of the market leaders with over 50 years of experience. The FOMET technology incorporated in the pouring furnaces has made pouring easy, simple and applicable not only on new moulding lines but also as a retrofit to existing moulding lines.
To develop and design this furnace, FOMET has exploited its own experience as a manufacturer of pouring furnaces. Making specific research in this field and verifying results in cooperation with our existing clients.
Our new pouring furnace is an induction heated bottom pour. It can be easily emptied to change grade whenever needed and it can be turned off during foundry stops to save power and then easily restarted.
The efficient refractory lining maintains the thermal loss to a minimum to guarantee large energy savings. It requires a small power input for maintaining and superheating the metal. It is also easy to control metal temperature and the refractory lining life.
The new pouring furnace can be equipped with all the pouring FOMET options such as; the CCD Vision system for controlling the mould cup filling level, in stream inoculation, furnace weighing and an automatic skip charger for the furnace charging ladle.
We are very proud to be partners with companies that use our equipment world-wide such as; Brembo, Renault, Amtek, Rassini Frenos, Dana, GIS, Mecanicos Unidos and just to list a few.
FOMET is well known for our pouring furnaces. For over 50 years we have been manufacturing the highest quality, most efficient and technologically advance furnace equipment. Our pour lines have set new standards in iron pouring. We have made pouring easy, simple and not only for new moulding lines but also as a retrofit to existing moulding lines. Our customers world-wide such as; Brembo, Renault, Amtek, Rassini Frenos, Dana, GIS, Mecanicos Unidos to list just a few, using our quality products, have requested that we develop a heated bottom pour. Several of them wanted to work with us to engineer absolutely the best heated bottom pouring furnace to meet their high specifications.
We are proud to introduce the result of our efforts, the Powered Easy Pour:
- Induction heated bottom pour
- Easily emptied to change grade
- Easily restarted after foundry stops to save energy
- Efficient refractory lining maintains the thermal loss to a minimum to guarantee large energy savings
- Requires a small power input for maintaining and superheating
- Easy metal temperature control
- Extended refractory lining life
- It can be equipped with all the FOMET pouring options such as; the CCD Vision system for controlling the mould cup filling level, in stream inoculation, furnace weighing and an automatic skip charger for the charging ladle.
