The sale of the bankrupt automotive supplier Honsel allegedly moves closer. Frank Kebekus, the insolvency administrator wants to complete the process in early April, was reported from financial circles. "We are in the final phase," said one participant. The sale price should therefore be in the range of 100 million €.

According to a report of the "Handelsblatt" the competitors from two previously encountered bidders could submit a joint bid to swallow Honsel: the Mexican casting specialist Nemak and Honsels major customer ZF Friedrichshafen. Whether the two will break apart Honsel or want to continue together with the company as a whole, remained unclear. ZF, which has already bought a french subsidiary of Honsel, does not want to comment these plans. Besides that it is said, that the private equity company Anchorage plans a takeover.

They are specializes in troubled companies and had bought at a discount credits of Honsel. Nevertheless customers from the automotive industry prefer a buyer from the industry. The die-casting manufacturer Honsel, previously belonged to the belgian financial investor RHJ International (Ripplewood), had gone into bankruptcy in October. That was the biggest bankruptcy in Germany last year. The company, located in Meschede, Germany even has improved the number of employees during their bankruptcy. Worldwide, there are working 4300 employees, 3200 of them in Germany.
